Hidden in the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounded by 38,000 acres of the Pisgah National Forest, Brown Mountain Beach Resort is a historic family-owned retreat nestled alongside Wilson Creek established in the early 1900s. Pack your swimsuits, wear your hiking shoes, & fishermen bring your gear, as the area boasts some of the best trout fishing in the U.S.! With something to do for just about everyone, we hope you’ll enjoy staying with us for a long weekend celebration.
The closest major airport is Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) – approximately 1 hour southeast of Brown Mountain Beach Resort & Morganton.
As an alternative, you may also fly into Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) – approximately 1.5 hrs southwest of Brown Mountain Beach Resort & Morganton.
While taxis/uber/lyft are available for transfer from the major airports to Morganton, we recommend renting a car so you can join us at your leisure throughout the weekend, & explore the beautiful towns of the Blue Ridge Mountains on your own!
Transportation to and from the wedding ceremony & reception will be provided. Ample (free) parking is available at Brown Mountain Beach Resort throughout the weekend.
For your convenience, two blocks of rooms have been reserved at nearby hotels in Morganton. August is already proving busy, so we recommend early booking!
Located in the heard of Morganton’s historic district, this is our recommended option. Please reserve by July 27 to receive the group rate.
A second block is available a bit further from the town’s main attractions, though still within easy driving distance. Please reserve by August 11 to receive the group rate.
The national historic district in which our hotel blocks are located has a wealth of restaurants, breweries, & green space for you to explore! Recommendations include:
Known as the “Crown of the Blue Ridge” & one of the only towns situated directly on the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock offers visitors sweeping vistas & storybook village charm. You can find unique local shopping, restaurants, & live music:
Extra credit to any guest who witnesses the famous paranormal (perhaps…extraterrestrial?) Brown Mountain Lights! Local legend dates sightings back as early as the 1770s. Many have investigated…NONE have explained. They have even played a starring role on an episode of The X-Files!
We know the effort it takes to travel so far and spend so much time with us – your presence, love, & support is our gift! So, please no gifts or cash of any kind.
